Alexander Timofeev
Founder and Director, The International Society of Pianists and Composers

alexandertimofeev.jpgAlexander Timofeev is a prize-winning pianist, composer and conductor. His compositions took top prizes in competitions and festivals in England, Russia, Slovakia, Belarus, Romania, Moldova as well as in the United States. As a pianist, he won the Third Prize in the 2007 MTNA Competition held in Toronto, Canada. As the winner of the Eastman School Concerto Competition, Alexander performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No.1 with the Eastman Symphony Orchestra in November of 2006. Also in 2006, he won the First Prizes at the Niss Piano Competition in Serbia and the Margaret Guthman Piano Competition in Atlanta, USA.

In May of 2006, Mr. Timofeev had his debut as a conductor with the National Chamber Orchestra of Moldova. At the 2008 Northern Lights Music Festival (Aurora, MN) he conducted Britten's opera "Noye's Fludde" and the NLMF Concerto Winners Concert.

Mr. Timofeev is a composer of a Piano Concerto (2003), a Cimbalom Concerto (2005) among other works.

He received his BM degree at Rowan University; his MM from Eastman School of Music and entered the doctoral program at the University of Maryland in Fall 2008 on a University Fellowship.

Mr. Timofeev founded the International Society of Pianists and Composers.
