Composer Claude Debussy (1862-1918) is closely associated with the Impressionist movement in art which took place at the crossing of the 19th and 20th centuries. Claude Monet’s famous paining Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise) of 1872 is suggested to have coined the term Impressionism.
